AMICO EXPANSION
CONTROL JOINT
(M or VV TYPE)
These expansion joints provide for the basic expansion
and contraction that can be expected in the stucco membrane, such
as initial shrinkage during stucco curing, and minor thermal expansion
and contraction. Overall width is a nominal 4 inches. Available
in galvanized steel or zinc alloy, in 10 ft. lengths. Packaging

AMICO GRIPLOCK
"J" EXPANSION/CONTROL JOINT (J TYPE)
This product provides excellent expansion control for
both walls and ceilings like the AMICO expansion/control joint,
but offers positive locking of the stucco to the edge of the joint.
This helps to reduce stucco separation at the edge of the joint.
Note: stucco must be forced under the rounded flange. This joint
also provides for the basic expansion and contraction that can
be expected in the stucco membrane, such as initial shrinkage
during curing, and minor thermal expansion and contraction. Removable
tape provides for easy joint cleaning. Overall width is nominal
4 inches. Available in galvanized steel or zinc alloy, in 10 ft.

AMICO expansion/control joint with flanges bent to an angle that
will fit inside corners. Available in galvanized steel or zinc

2-PIECE EXPANSION
JOINT
(NUMBER 40 TYPE)
This accessory is a two piece male/female joint that
is used to accommodate more movement than a single piece joint.
It also allows for movement in two directions. This joint is generally
used at through wall expansions with double studs or where there
is a transition from one type of framing to another (example CMU's
to wood framing). Flashing should always be used behind this joint
and ASTM C1063 should dictate installation procedures. Joint opening
is adjustable from ¼" to 5/8". Available in 10
ft. lengths, 15 pieces, 150 feet per ctn.

Zinc Control Joint
Zinc Control Joint has a solid flange with large holes that aid in the
attachment of adjoining metal lath. The improved shoulder design allows easier
stucco embedment and increases holding capacity at the joint to minimize
cracking. Part comes pre-taped to ensure a clean joint. Produced in 10’ lengths.

Note: Flashing should be applied in the form of asphalt-saturated construction
paper or flashing strips behind all expansion joints and all joints
should be imbedded in caulk. AMICO recommends the use of galvanized
lath and either zinc alloy or vinyl accessories for all exterior stucco
applications. See ASTM C 1063 for installation information.
